Software: StudPro

Your phone remembers every cow

StudPro is the herd records app from Studbrand. Breeding, production and health go in on the phone, even offline, and come back as reminders and numbers you can act on.

What StudPro records

Built around the ear tag number, so every record lands on the right animal.

Animal records

One record per animal, keyed to its ear tag number: identity, breed, sire and dam, photos and status.

Breeding and calving

Heats, services, pregnancy checks and calvings, with reminders for what is due next. Reminders can also go out by SMS.

Health and treatments

Treatments and vaccinations recorded against each animal, with withdrawal dates so milk and meat leave the farm clean.

Milk and growth

Daily milk per cow and weights for growing stock, entered on the phone in the parlour or the race.

Cost per animal

StudPro does the sum: cost per litre and per kilogram gained, per animal and per group.

Works offline

Built for farms where the network comes and goes. Records are kept on the phone and sync when a connection returns.

How people use it

StudPro is for commercial dairy and beef farms, stud breeders, and the vets and managers who work with them.

  • Dairy farm manager. Records milk at each milking, sees which cows are due for service this week, and knows the cost per litre at month end.
  • Stud breeder. Keeps sire and dam for every calf, ready for registration with the breed society.
  • Farm vet. Opens the animal’s treatment history before examining it, and records the treatment and withdrawal period on the spot.
  • Lender or insurer. Sees a herd file of tagged animals with records behind them, the starting point for a valuation.

Part of the provenance chain

StudPro works with Studbrand ID tags: each tag number opens the animal’s record. Pedigree records flow to your breed society’s registry on Studbrand Registry, where the society registers and certifies. A recorded herd is also the starting point for a valuation.

Questions

Does StudPro work without internet?

Yes. StudPro is designed for farms with patchy coverage: records are captured on the phone and sync when a connection is available.

Can I use my existing ear tag numbers?

Yes. Each animal record is keyed to its tag number. If you need new or replacement tags, Studbrand ID tags can be ordered with your existing numbering.

Who owns the data?

You do. Your herd records belong to your farm.
