Step 3: Register

A registry the breed society controls

Registered stock sells for more when buyers can trust the pedigree. Studbrand Registry gives breed societies and national herdbooks one platform for members, animals, pedigree and inspections. Your society registers and certifies; Studbrand provides the platform.

For breed societies and national herdbooks

  • Member registration and membership records
  • Animal registration with tag number, breed, sire and dam
  • Pedigree across generations, and transfers of ownership
  • Inspection scheduling and inspection results
  • Registration certificates issued by the society
  • Separate, private data for each society using the platform

Built for KLBA

Studbrand is building the multi-tenant registry platform for the Kenya Livestock Breeders Association (KLBA). It is designed so other societies can run their own registry on the same platform, each with its own members, rules and certificates.

The society stays in charge

  • The society owns its herdbook. Studbrand operates the platform.
  • Members can see their animals and registrations online.
  • Your complete herdbook can be exported in an open format. See our commitments.

Breeders identify animals with Studbrand ID tags and keep day-to-day records in StudPro. The society’s registry is the official record of pedigree and ownership, which supports sales of registered stock and, later, valuation.
